University of St. Thomas’ Police Leadership Program Spotlighted at Florida Police Chiefs Association’s Conference

The University of St. Thomas’ innovative Master of Arts in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership program, now available 100% online, was showcased at the Florida Police Chiefs Association’s recent Training Conference and Exposition.

St. Thomas, ranked a Best National University by U.S. News & World Report, designed the first-of-its-kind graduate degree program to prepare public safety professionals and law enforcement professionals, such as police officers, sheriff’s deputies and federal agents, for leadership roles. Many alumni of the Police Leadership program are police chiefs or hold advanced positions in local, state and federal agencies.

The Florida Police Chiefs Association, which has more than 750 members, held its Mid-Winter Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida, from Jan. 12 to 14.  The theme was “Moving Forward in the 21st Century: Emerging Trends and Best Practices.”

“Speaking with police executives and key decision-makers in the nation’s fourth-largest state was a great way to spotlight our MA in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership program,” said Dr. Deb DeMeester, Police Leadership Program Director at St. Thomas. “With our pioneering 100% online format, advanced educational qualifications are within reach for talented public safety and law enforcement professionals, regardless of their location.”

The University of St. Thomas’ Police Leadership program is powered by University Alliance (UA) and offers students a professor-led video-based e-learning platform for 24/7 access to a virtual classroom. Students may view instructor-led, streaming video lectures, download MP3 and MP4 files to their mobile devices, and communicate with faculty and fellow students through live virtual sessions and discussion boards.

UA representatives attended the police chiefs’ conference to discuss the many benefits of St. Thomas’ 100% online Master of Arts in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership program with law enforcement professionals.
