The University of Scranton Announces Scholarship Recipients for Master of Science in Education Degrees

The University of Scranton, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited university, in partnership with University Alliance and Bisk Education, has awarded scholarships to two outstanding educators who have demonstrated their ability to make a difference in their students’ lives.

The University of Scranton would like to congratulate the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship recipients for the Special Spring 2012, Part B online session:

Ms. Fogas is very active in her school, volunteering for extracurricular assignments, chaperoning field trips, and serving as senior class advisor. She has received many professional awards and recognition, but what means the most to her is what her students say about how she has made a difference in their lives. “If you ask me, the letters my students wrote are more powerful than any other award or recognition,” says Ms. Fogas.

Ms. MacKay, a National Board-certified teacher, has held a variety of educational leadership positions, created educational programs and taught all over the world. She brings a commitment to multiculturalism and social justice to her classroom. Ms. MacKay says, “I make a difference in the lives of others not by striving to do great things, but be seeking to do each small thing with great love.”

“The University of Scranton congratulates the scholarship recipients and recognizes their professional achievements,” said W. Jeffrey Welsh, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education at The University of Scranton. “We are proud to be able to support their continued education and success.”

The University of Scranton’s 100% online courses provide 24/7 course access allowing for greater flexibility and convenience for today’s hard-working teachers. With a video based e-learning platform, live chat rooms, discussion boards and email access, campus visits are not required.

With available scholarships for teachers, it’s a great time for outstanding educators to consider earning a master’s degree online.
