The University of Scranton Announces Scholarship Winner for 100% Online MS in Education Programs Facilitated by University Alliance

The University of Scranton, ranked by U.S. News & World Report, has collaborated with University Alliance to present Ashley Arroyo with the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship for the Special Spring 2014 Part B session.

Throughout her career, Ashley has exhibited many qualities of an extraordinary teacher. In addition to teaching English as a Second Language, she has served as an academic supervisor, volleyball and softball coach, emotional counselor, disciplinarian, study-hall supervisor, parent and friend. Her students view her as both a teacher and a role model.

Ashley’s supervisors describe her as a gifted professional who goes beyond her duties as a teacher to serve as a mentor, counselor and active community member.

“The University of Scranton is pleased to award this scholarship to Ashley Arroyo,” said W. Jeffrey Welsh, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. “She is clearly dedicated to the academic success and well-being of her students, and we support her efforts to advance her education and gain new skills in educational administration.”

The University of Scranton awards eight annual scholarships to students pursuing its online Master’s in Education program for the first time. This award grants winners a quarter of the tuition cost for either the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction or the Master of Science in Educational Administration.

The graduate program’s video-based e-learning platform is powered by University Alliance, with streaming and downloadable lectures, professor-led interactive discussion boards and online chat rooms.
