The University of Scranton Announces Bisk Foundation Scholarship Winner

U.S. News & World Report-ranked The University of Scranton congratulates Kristen Wolff on receiving the Bisk Foundation Scholarship for the Special Spring 2014, Part A Session.

The scholarships, which are awarded to newly enrolled students in the 100% online Master of Science (MS) in Education programs, recognize academic excellence and a devotion to social justice.

Wolff, a mathematics supervisor from Pennington, N.J., encourages students to see the value of humanitarian work. As student government director, she led fundraising efforts, a food drive and a teddy bear project for sick children, all of them designed to “plant a seed” of inspiration that will compel students to help others.

Wolff said attaining an MS in Educational Administration “will provide the foundation I need to become a leader in education.”

The University of Scranton, with the support of Bisk Education, Inc., awards eight scholarships annually to first-time students in the 100% online MS in Educational Administration or MS in Curriculum and Instruction programs. Each scholarship provides 25% tuition savings through graduation.

“These scholarships demonstrate our core commitment to nurturing the professional and personal growth of exceptional educators such as Kristen Wolff as they prepare for leadership roles,” said W. Jeffrey Welsh, PhD, Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

The University of Scranton online programs are powered by University Alliance technology, and feature video-based lectures, online chat rooms and discussion boards.

Scholarship applications are being accepted for the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship through Feb. 16, 2014, for the Special Spring 2014, Part B session.
