The University of Scranton Celebrates 125th Anniversary

The University of Scranton is proud to announce the kickoff of its 125th Anniversary Tour, which will be highlighted by events throughout the nation in 2014.

Since the Bishop of Scranton blessed its cornerstone in 1888, the Jesuit university has flourished to earn consistent recognition as a top-ranked university from such prestigious publications as U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review.

Today, The University of Scranton offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including a Master of Science (MS) in Education: Curriculum and Instruction and an MS in Education: Educational Administration, both offered 100% online.

All members of the university community, including campus-based and online students, will have opportunities to participate in the anniversary celebration, with tour stops planned for New Jersey, New York and California, as well as Scranton’s home state of Pennsylvania.

“We are excited to honor the university’s history of delivering academic excellence to generations of students, both in traditional and online formats,” said W. Jeffrey Welsh, PhD, Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

Scranton’s 100% online MS in Education programs are powered by University Alliance, a division of Bisk Education, and feature streaming and downloadable video-based lectures, interactive chat rooms and discussion boards.
