Jacksonville University Attains 10-Year Reaccreditation from Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

Jacksonville University, recognized as one of the nation’s best colleges by U.S. News & World Report, is pleased to announce that it has attained 10-year reaccreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Accreditation is a major indicator of educational quality, and signifies that a university’s mission is appropriate to higher education and that the institution possesses the resources, services and programs to support its mission.

Jacksonville University (JU) was founded 80 years ago and offers dozens of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Among its colleges and schools are the College of Arts & Sciences, the Davis College of Business and the College of Health Sciences. Jacksonville University also offers educational programs with 100% online classrooms, including an RN to BSN, a Master of Science in Nursing: Clinical Nurse Educator and an MSN: Leadership in Healthcare Systems.

The multi-year reaccreditation process included on-site visits, comprehensive reviews and detailed research in advance of final acceptance by the Commission on Colleges of SACS.

“We are honored to receive our 10-year reaccreditation,” said JU School of Nursing Dean Judith M. Erickson, PhD, RN, CNS-BS. “This distinction reflects our decades-long commitment to providing educational excellence through our renowned campus-based and innovative distance-learning programs.”

Jacksonville’s School of Nursing also is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

JU’s online RN to BSN and MSN programs are powered by University Alliance, a division of Bisk Education, and allow nursing professionals to study at their own pace under the direction of highly qualified faculty. Features include eight-week sessions, and 24/7 access to streaming video lectures, professor-led message boards and live chat rooms.

The Summer I, 2014, session begins April 28. To learn more about Jacksonville’s online nursing degree programs, visit www.jacksonvilleu.com or contact a program representative at 855-300-1472.
