Jacksonville University Celebrates National Nurses Week

As nurses across the country are honored for their hard work and dedication during National Nurses Week, the staff and faculty at Jacksonville University are taking time out to thank those who serve.

“As we celebrate National Nurses Week, we at Jacksonville University simply wish to honor those who have dedicated their lives to helping others through the nursing profession,” said Acting Dean Christine Sapienza, PhD. “Nurses give selflessly to help others during times of need, often putting in long hours with little thanks. This week is about giving them the credit they deserve.”

Facts about nurses:

“It’s our sincere hope that everyone takes time out during National Nurses Week to simply say thanks to those who have committed their lives to helping others,” Sapienza said.

Jacksonville University Honors Nurses Daily

The program’s 100% online classes, facilitated by University Alliance, enable working nurses to advance their careers by earning degrees on their own schedules. The professor-led video-based e-learning program eliminates commuting and allows students to complete coursework at their convenience while maintaining work and family commitments.

The program, which offers six start times a year, enables nurses to complete clinical and practice projects locally or where they currently work.

Recognizing the value of experience in the field, Jacksonville University awards 30 credits for students with active RN licenses. It also allows up to 60 transfer credits from other regionally accredited schools.

Supporting Outstanding Professionals

To make it even easier for nurses to obtain their degrees, the university recognizes outstanding applicants with its Online RN to BSN Honor Scholarship. This award supports the continued professional development of RNs who already work hard to make a difference in the communities they serve by helping them achieve their dreams of doing more with their careers.

“To each and every nurse out there in the field, working every day to provide the highest level of care in hospitals, schools, clinics and elsewhere, please accept our heartfelt ‘thank you,’” Sapienza said. “We hope you have a fantastic National Nurses Week!”
