Florida Tech Receives Military-Friendly Designation by G.I. Jobs for Third Straight Year

Reinforcing Florida Tech’s exemplary reputation with military and veteran students, the university has once again been recognized as a “military-friendly school” by G.I. Jobs magazine. The publication, which selects the top 15% of colleges, universities and trade schools from a pool of over 8,000, assembles the list to provide guidance to military personnel on which schools are most capable and willing to meet their needs. Florida Tech, ranked a Tier 1 Best National University by U.S. News & World Report, has been on this prominent list since the program’s inception, and has retained the distinction every year since.

Founded in 1958, Florida Tech’s rich history of tradition and academic excellence has always appealed to those serving; the addition of online convenience has only strengthened that appeal. Powered by University Alliance, the largest facilitator of e-learning in the country, Florida Tech’s 100% online programs allow servicemembers to connect whenever it’s convenient for them, receiving a world-class education no matter where they are stationed. With nothing more than an Internet connection, they can access streaming videos, downloadable MP3 and MP4 lectures, chat rooms and discussion boards 24/7. There is no penalty for sitting out a term or more and re-entering because of duty assignments, and graduates receive the same degree as main-campus students.

Florida Tech has always had strong ties to the military, and is proud to count 32 Generals, including two Four-Star Generals, amongst its distinguished alumni. Today, the university contracts with the Army to provide mandatory education to servicemembers in logistics, contract management and acquisition. Florida Tech is a proud SOC member, as well as a leading participant in the Yellow Ribbon G.I. Education Enhancement program, the Marine Corps Academic Explorer and the Army Continuing Education System. In addition to its main campus and 100% online programs, Florida Tech has additional satellite campuses serving military installations in Alabama, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia.

Servicemembers, veterans and spouses pursuing a degree from Florida Tech can also take advantage of exclusive military pricing and tuition assistance. The university participates in Active Duty Tuition Assistance (Military TA), Veteran Education Assistance, Reserve Education Assistance and Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA benefits).
