Jacksonville University Announces Inaugural Recipient of Online RN to BSN Honor Scholarship

U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited Jacksonville University is proud to recognize Susan Tyler as the winner of its first-ever Online RN to BSN Honor Scholarship.

Tyler, of Jacksonville, Florida, is a registered nurse in the field of radiation oncology. As the recipient of the Fall I, 2012 session scholarship, she will receive 25% off tuition for all Jacksonville University online RN to BSN nursing classes until she completes her degree.

In an essay that accompanied her scholarship application, Tyler wrote that “it was always my dream to be a nurse.” She said that earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree will allow her to reach her full potential and become a nurse manager, which will enable her “to teach a new generation of nurses the skills necessary to do their job with caring, kindness and compassion.”

Jacksonville University (JU) will award six scholarships each year to first-time students in the RN to BSN 100% online program. Among other criteria, applicants must have a 3.4 GPA or higher upon applying to JU and maintain at least a 3.4 GPA through graduation.

“Jacksonville University is dedicated to supporting outstanding RNs in their pursuit of professional excellence and personal growth,” said Andra Opalinski, PhD, ARNP-BC, CEN, CNE, Director of RN to BSN Programs at Jacksonville University School of Nursing. “We are pleased to honor Susan Tyler as the inaugural recipient of our Online RN to BSN Honor Scholarship.”
