Dominican University Awards Gifted Educator with Scholarship for 100% Online Master of Arts in Education Degree

U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited Dominican University, in partnership with University Alliance and Bisk Education, would like to congratulate Lauren Proceviat, the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship recipient for the Spring II, 2012 session. This scholarship supports exceptional educators who wish to pursue a master’s in education with Dominican University’s 100% online MAEd program.

Ms. Proceviat, currently residing in Daegu, Korea, is enrolled in the online Master of Arts in Education program with a specialization in English as a Second Language, demonstrating the value and flexibility of Dominican’s education program. Before completing her bachelor’s degree, she knew that she wanted to teach internationally and has dedicated the last two years to teaching in China and Korea. She says that despite the challenges of teaching in a foreign country, she couldn’t imagine doing anything else. “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn and to be heard.”

“Dominican University congratulates Ms. Proceviat. We are proud to honor an outstanding educator and help her gain essential skills and knowledge for career advancement and continued success,” says Colleen Reardon, Ed.D, Dean of the School of Education for Dominican University. “Ms. Proceviat serves as positive role model to other educators and exemplifies the difference this scholarship can make to teachers as well as to their future students.”

Dominican University’s MAEd degrees help teachers gain essential skills that they can use immediately to further their careers and encourage students to reach their potential. Dominican University’s 100% online master’s in education programs provide students with the flexibility of 24/7 access to courses and the video-based e-learning model means that campus visits aren’t required. With the availability of scholarships for first-time applicants, this is an excellent time for educators to consider pursuing a master’s degree in Elementary Education, Reading, or ESL.
