Bisk Education Helps Meet the Needs of the Hungry

Bisk Education Food Drive

Hundreds of employees from Tampa-based Bisk Education teamed up to stock the Salvation Army Food Pantry this holiday season, donating 13,050 food items to hungry families. Participation among Bisk employees dramatically increased from last year’s food drive by turning this year’s five-week food drive into a friendly competition across department teams.

“The overwhelming generosity of our employees speaks to their commitment to the Tampa Bay community,” said Philip Kenney, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

All donations are given to the Salvation Army Food Pantry, which provides groceries for thousands of hungry families each year.

Major James Hall, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Hillsborough County, expressed deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in the food drive. “Each year, the Salvation Army provides emergency food assistance to nearly 14,000 men, women and kids who would otherwise go hungry. We are so thankful to Bisk employees for sharing their blessings with neighbors in need."

For more than 25 years Bisk Education has made Tampa its home. Operating out of a 135,000-square-foot-campus in the Sabal Park area, its 850-plus employees focus on providing lifelong-learning opportunities from top-ranked universities to working adults 100% online. Powered by this technology and support services offered through Bisk’s University Alliance (UA) division, universities working with UA have surpassed 450,000 online enrollments – making UA the largest facilitator of e-learning in the country.
