Bisk Education Donates Nearly 13,000 Items to the Needy During 2014 Holiday Season

Bisk Education, a worldwide leader in online education, is proud to announce that its 2014 holiday food drive contributed 12,899 much-needed items to the Brandon, Florida-based Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO). Donated items included canned meats and milk, pasta, cereal and other dry goods, as well as soap, shampoo and dental hygiene products.

Operated primarily by volunteers, ECHO provides immediate relief in the forms of food, clothing and household items to area residents who have experienced a recent emergency. The organization also offers a variety of classes designed to help families lead healthier lives and gain basic career skills.

“At Bisk we have a saying: Change Someone’s Life Today,” said Mike Bisk, President of Bisk Education. “Our donation drive helps fulfill that mission in a very fundamental way. I’m proud to see Bisk employees really stepping up to help others in our community.”

Bisk’s holiday food drive is an annual event in which its 900+ employees team up for a worthy cause. The company divides its departments into teams and challenges each to bring in as many items as possible – with the added incentive of a company-furnished lunch for the winning team.

This year, two Bisk teams donated more than 10,000 items. Team representatives will also present ECHO with a $500 check, which they asked the company to donate in lieu of accepting their prize. “The spirit of competition at Bisk truly helped boost the holiday spirit for many families this year,” Bisk continued.
